Is JRiver compatible with Astell and Kern AK70 MKII?
« on: November 06, 2017, 09:10:59 pm »

I was hoping to make playlist with JRiver for my Astelll And Kern Ak70 MKII but i cannot see my device in the device and driver  section. The software does see my cd drives. I was looking for a software like itunes,  but preferably one  that would not destroy my database of music like itunes does, because ripping all my cd's takes a lot of time. It appears this program does not interface with Astell and Kern devices. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had no problems with  JRiver v 22 recognizing Astell & Kern's AK70 in the drives and devices section. JRiver v 23 however does not recognize AK70 and therefore AK70 does not appear in the drives and devices.

Can you please help me with this issue. FYI, JRiver 22 which is still installed in my PC recognizes AK70 as before.

Any suggestion please?. As it is now, JRiver is useless for me since I am no able to send my music files to my device.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Martín

If you're using the 64-bit version of Media Center 23 on Windows, it doesn't support handheld devices yet. You can try using the 32-bit version until it's supported.

Thanks very much for your fast reply!

I am indeed using the 64-bit versión of Media Center 23. This explains why I was experiencing such annoying issues!. Another solution is stick to previous v 22, don't you think?. Any difference between your solution and mine?.

anyway, it is a pity that 64-bit versión of MC 23 does not work with AK70 yet. I switched from ITunes to Media Center because of the compatibility between MC and AK70!.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi, I  have the same problem  here. But  I'm using Mac mini. Are there some methods to make jriver for Mac show my Android devices? I got an AK240. I can only copy files with Android transfer  app. It is hard for managing the music  and playlist.

 >:( >:( >:(
Yes and no, and it's annoying me.

I have JRiver MC23 installed on two machines (one at work and one at home). Both are Win 10 64 bit.

My AK70 is detected on the work machine which is nice.  For no reason whatsoever, it is NOT detected on my home machine.

Make no mistake, my AK70 IS detected my both machines.

I'm very very annoyed by this because the reason I paid out for MC was because MusicBee does not let my sync playlists with the AK70.

So someone really needs to explain why on earth compatibility with the AK70 is inconsistent in a product we paid a whole lot of money for.

People keep talking about some 32 bit MC23 but there's no download for it.

If the device isn't detected within Media Center 23 on Windows, you're likely using the 64-bit version of Media Center 23.

You can find the 32-bit build in the sticky release topics in the Media Center 23 for Windows forum section. The 32-bit build link is the one listed as the standard build (and not the 64-bit or x64 build).

Hi,

When do you think a MC23  64-bit version which works with AK70 will be available?. I do not mind using versión 22 if it is not going to take a long time for this AK70-compatible versión.

Thanks in advance for your help

You could use the 32 bit version of MC23.

I know I can use the 32-bit version of MC23 but I would prefer to use the 64-bit version when a newer version is compatible with A&K AK70. This is why I was asking when this 64-bit AK-70 compatible will be available if it is possible to know this. In the meantime, I will still be using MC22.

There's no handheld support in the 64-bit build of MC23 for Windows right now, so the 32-bit build is your only option if you want handheld support for the AK-70.

MC22 is also only 32-bit, I'm not sure I understand why that is preferable over 32-bit MC23 then. We're still working on Handheld support for 64-bit, but it requires basically re-building a huge component from scratch, so its not quite clear yet when it'll be done.
