Just for something different... I modified an apple airport express to run off the cigarette lighter in the car. (3.4v DC) I can now connect the iphone to the car via airplay and the airport express is connected to my aux input in the car stereo.
Airplay Audio is definitely better quality than bluetooth that's for sure!
The only downside is no steering wheel controls for track fwd / back and no track info on the dash. A minor inconvenience when the phone is mounted on the windscreen anyway.
I can still get internet access working on the iphone while connected to the airport express by deleting router settings on the iphone for the airport express wifi connection so it automatically uses mobile 4G for internet and still connects to the airport express for airplay.
