Accessing Panel remotely with access key
« on: November 22, 2017, 02:44:02 pm »

I am trying to figure an easy way to connect to my media server via Panel from outside of my LAN using my server access key. Ideally I'd like to be able to bookmark a URL that includes my server access key so I am brought directly to the login screen. The closest thing I can find is this page (https://jriver.com/webgizmo.html) which allows me to input my access key. But even this doesn't really work, as it tries to pass me to the Gizmo page at http://serverIPaddress:52199/Gizmo/mode.html. So while the IP address or my media server is now revealed, I have to manually change the URL to http://serverIPaddress:52199/Panel for it to access the Panel interface. Is there are more direct route to activating Panel remotely using the access key?

No feedback on this? It really seems like Panel should be easier to access remotely.

Panel doesn't use the Access Key method (yet).  You would need to  know the "outside" IP address of your LAN.  Type "whatsmyip" into Google to find it.

Then read the wiki topic called Network Access.  You have to configure your router to forward ports 52100 to 52200 to the server.

Thanks Jim. This page https://jriver.com/webgizmo.html appears to be set up to bring up the Panel remotely with the access key, but then directs to webGizmo instead. I can access the panel by manually editing the URL it creates, which includes the IP provided by the access key.
