JRiver Media Center 23.0.84 for Debian Jessie QNAP issue
« on: December 03, 2017, 10:43:24 am »

Hi I have installed mediacenter23 on my qnap453a running linux station; it was working fine, then  there was an update to Linux i think  and I now cant get any version of mediacenter working except 21; lates attempt was this .84 version on the assumption it might fix the problem.

When I run using the Linux Debugger it tells me that there is a missing directory?

i get a seg fault with 23 when trying to open it in Terminal

Any ideas ; bit of a pain since Qnap stopped supporting JRiver on HDstation

Sounds like you are missing some libraries. Hopefully a QNAP expert will chime in here...

Hardly an expert but I can say that I have the latest Debian release working fine with 23.0.84.

I've never had an issue related to an upgrade of Linux or MC, so it sounds as if your Linux install has corrupted along the line.

Can only suggest you run  sudo apt - get update && sudo apt - get dist - upgrade  to get the latest code, but if the library is missing it may not help you and I daresay you've tried this a few times.

Also happy to compare the library/package files if you want to go down that road.

I have the latest QNAP OS and I'd love to be able to run the latest MC23 version on it.  I installed MC22 a while back but never got it to work.  I think QNAP stopped supporting under Hd Station and I tried a direct install based on instructions somewhere on the forum but gave up.  I just tried again and It presents a license entry window but it won't accept anything.

Can you provide me with install steps fro MC23 on the QNAP?  I'm not a linux expert so I may need some details such as running files from the download.  It's never as easy as just clicking the downloaded file in either Chrome or Download Station.

Thanks.
