Hello all,

I imagine this is just a setting I can't find...

I have a Yes SACD ripped to DFF.

When I try to play it through ASIO into my USB DAC, it says that the device does not support 6 output channels and playback could not be started.

Can you please help me figure out what to change so I can listen to this disc through my headphones?

Thanks!

Yep, I sure am. Without DoP..."native" DSD processing in DAC.

Which YES SACD?  I think they all come with a 2-channel stereo mix (which is the original anyway and since you are using headphones....  why have it re-mixed to 2 channel?)

You should be able to rip the stereo layer....

You can't bitstream a 6 channel track to a 2 channel DAC.
You have to disable bitstreaming so that the Output Format DSP can mix it down to 2 channels, as there's no option to selectively enable DSD bitstreaming right now - it's all or nothing.

I do it by importing thr sacd iso , selecting the 2 channel tracks and converting format to flac 24 96 , Set in the DSP. You will see a duplicate set in 6 channel

I then delete the iso and reimport the converted flac

That way I get the best. I have no interest in the 5.1 stuff as I listen mostly on headphones

DSD format was never meant to allow DSP processing, including downmixing. Mathematically it is very complicated to do processing on a DSD format and would require a great deal of computer power. In mixing studios they convert to PCM to do any processing.  Not being able to downmix is not just a MC issue, it is a general issue, unfortunately. It is one of the drawbacks on the DSD format. You have to convert to PCM to do any processing, including volume changes, as you found out.
