I recently switched from Windows to Mac. I keep having a problem where my MacBook randomly restarts (kernel panic) while running MC 23. The log for the kp states: BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Media Center 23.

I'm not that technical and as a long time Windows user I know nothing about macOS. I did try running hardware diagnostics and the MacBook passed. I also tried deleting MC 23 and reinstalling. Still get the kernel panics.

I'm running the latest version of High Sierra, 10.13.2.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this would be welcome. Thanks.

What age is your MacBook? Some of us with MacBook pros around 2012-2014 with a discrete graphics cards have had kernel panics when the Mac switches to its Nvidia card under high Sierra playing video particularly on an external second screen. Solution so far to downgrade to Sierra.
