Using Mc23 on a mac air running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.2.  Whenever my screen locks, MC23 quits and the music stops, which is incredibly annoying.  I never have other apps running when MC is running. The music files are stored on a QNAP NAS I do not have a problem with other apps quitting when the screen locks.  I expect that I may be missing something obvious but searches  the forum  and the web and have not yielded any posts addressing this issue.  Is anyone else experiencing the problem and, if so,  have you found a solution? 

On a separate matter,  I have constructive feedback for the folks at JRiver.  I have found the performance of your program is generally good but the lack of a user manual that helps in setting up and optimizing the usage of the program is a real hurdle to using you program.  This forum is helpful in trying to answer questions and solve problems but it assumes one knows what questions to ask. This approach to support makes it very hard to learn how to use your program and get the most out of it - frankly, I am not sure its worth the required effort, particularly given the price.   In searching the web I have found feedback from many others that are dissatisfied with JRiver support and have switched to other programs.  if you want people to keep buying and updating your program, your support needs to be more user friendly.

That is probably an OS issue.  Did you try an Internet search?  Or posting on the Apple forums?

I just tried this out and played (on a Macbook with 10.13.2 via WiFi) a FLAC residing on a (Synology) NAS. Locked the screen and the music continued. MC did not crash, even after unlocking.

I'd check the power options on the Mac and make sure it's not putting things to sleep, e.g. drives and/or the network.

Thanks for the responses.  I have searched the web for information related to the problem but have been unsuccessful in finding anything that might lead me to a solution.

The power options are:  display sleep after 10 minutes, computer sleep after 3 hours.  I usually find that MC quits about 45 minutes into music playing. 

I think i found a solution though:  even though my screen was only locking not logging me out, when i unchecked the Preferences >security & privacy> advanced >setting to log out after 180  minutes,  MC would no longer quit when the screen locked.  It doesn't seem like the issue should be linked to this change given that the screen would lock and MC would quit well before 3 hours, I am happy that I have a solution.
