MC22 for QNAP (HD-Station) aborts after entering Master License for MC23
werdandi70:
Hello,
On trying to enter a (recently) bought Master License for MC23 in MC22 (there's no MC23 for QNAP yet) the App aborts/vanishes and only the HD-Station surface with the installed Apps is shown. This behavior is reproducable, each time trying.
In an other thread, a user got somewhat a specific temp license to get it working but it was communicated via pm and not in a public way, so i don not know anything further.
Can anyone help?
JimH:
We don't support QNAP. They probably don't support JRiver.

i'm very sorry, BUT this is to simple. Not only that this https://www.eteknix.com/qnaps-hd-stationa-center-support/ tells another story(and i haven't found any official announcement, that this collaboration has been ended), further more i read the threads/posts in this forum very mindful and it is full with tons of posts concerning exact my problem.
To underline it let me quote an example from this thread https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=104342.0 where this was communicated:

Hi there,
i am having same issue. yesterday i buy a master license.it work perfect on my windows PC but in Qnap TS-251+ 4.2.1
i can not use it. Comment was, "its for another version". I also think a master license work with every version on every OS ?
is there already a solution to get it run on Qnap? i really get upset about this problem

Send me your license number in a PM (personal message) and I'll send you back a code you can use until the new build gets released.

in the meanwhile i'm really desperate about that, cause it's(licensing) the only problem i have, all other apsects, where i was afraid to have issues (seperate usb dsd high end dac / SACD iso images) would work well.
So please do no sell me down the river and provide any solution i can live with (e.g. a special infinite trial period extension code)

I can sympathise with your user angst but be aware that Qnap pulled the rug out from under JRiver's feet. There's a post somewhere on the forum from some time ago explaining Qnap's sudden dropping of MC from HD Station as a selectable option. The only way of installing MC for that functional path now, is via a manual install of a .qpkg file.
If you have problems with that install route, don't be surprised by minimal formal support from JRiver's devs. This is not the first case of them doing their best for users only to be let down by other software developers / organisations. JRiver hasn't sold you down the river, in this case Qnap has and I'm in the boat with you (along with a few others out there).
That said there are other options that you could explore, e.g. Docker. Search the forum for further info.
All the best.. ;)

hello again and first of all, i don't want to blame or bother anyone in any way...
So: i think i managed the next step - it was really kind a odyssee ;-) - at last i decided to take it with humor ...
maybe later on, i'll tell the whole story but to currentyl put it in a nutshell: due to it took me a bit to long to get a mc22 installed on a qnap linux station(ubuntu 16.04) my mc23 master license was blocked as expired and i need a "quickening" to try again
can please any of the admins/devs can help me in that case
