Subscription/manual recording makes 2 copies
« on: February 11, 2018, 04:29:46 pm »

Not really a bug, but certainly weird behaviour.  My wife is an Olympics freak, and records EVERYTHING!!!

So, she had already set up a manual one off recording of the opening ceremonies before I set up a subscription.

I did set up the subscription before the opening ceremonies aired, so when it recorded, I ended up with 2 copies (I assume 1 from the manual recording, and 1 from the subscription).  This seems weird to me.  Not sure if it tied up 2 tuners.

Did you modify the one-off recording to add a subscription, or just added a subscription separately?

did it separately.

That might be the cause.  Without going back to look at my code, I think I made it so that different recording rules are treated as completely separate and probably we did not try to eliminate the extra recording.

Didn't you look at and maybe implement code that stopped the second recording of a program if it was already marked to be recorded?

I thought that worked across Recording Rules, so regardless of the reason for the second recording.
