Pause problem
« on: January 30, 2018, 07:31:44 pm »

We have the jriver remote and until the upgrade to 23 have had no problems.

Now when we pause on the first occasion it jumps back to the menu.  Push play again and the movie starts ok.  Sometime later, maybe 5 mins, push pause and again it jumps back to the menu.  All other times the pause play works perfectly. this is an intermittent problem.

Try avoiding the PLAY button. Just use the PAUSE button to stop and restart.

This is really odd.
Play movie for 10 mins press pause and the movie stops and goes back to menu.
Start play again pause pause pause all ok
10-15 mins later press pause jumps back to menu again??

I actually saw something a bit like this the other day.

I was playing an episode of a TV series, pressed Stop before the end of the show during credits, and instead of MC dropping back to the Season menu level it dropped all the way back to the "Shows" menu level.

I didn't take enough notice to be able to document it though. Something to watch out for in future. Not normal behaviour.

If you pause, after a few minutes, MC23 will assume you have stopped playback.

I have had this remote since day 1 and it has never done what it does now since upgrading to 23
You could push the centre button several times and it always paused
Is this a new function in 23?

The centre button between the Up/Down/Left/Right arrow buttons is the OK button. On my harmony/MCE remote it pauses and restarts playback all the time. I tested on MC23.0.96 on my HTPC.

I suspect that there is something wrong in your setup Maid. Is it possible to reboot (power down and power up) your remote? i.e. Pull the batteries out, wait a couple of minutes, put them back in and try again. If that doesn't work, put new batteries in it and try again.

I can't replicate the problem I had earlier with Stop dropping back to the Shows menu. I suspect that was a remote control problem, as I had recently updated its settings.

It has to be something on your PC Maid. MC23 doesn't do it in other installations.

You could try resetting the IR Commands in MC.

Backup your Library.
Go to "Options > Remote Control > Commands" and click the "Restore Default List".
Click OK to finish.

Try that for a while. If it doesn't fix the problem, restore the library backup if you had customised the Remote Control commands. If not, no need to restore.

Tell us if that worked.

Unless windows updates have done something then nothing has changed.
I am going to revert back to MC21 and test that as there was no issues then
