Removing empty space in an mp3
« on: June 15, 2003, 10:10:05 pm »

There are a few songs that have several seconds of blank space at the end (like 15 seconds or more).

Is there anyway to process this out of the file without degrading the quality of the mp3? If not with MC, what program would be the best so as to not affect the quality of the sound, just truncate the last 'x' seconds.

Thanks in advance!

I think MP3Trim does this. Not sure, but you should also be able to tell MC not to play silence from the options.

mc9 does have an option for this

media editor works (could be better at triming)

but it is more just getting used to how it works.

it does convert formats so you may lose a bit there but i have never noticed any loss, but then again i can't hear all that well.
