Will there be explicit instructions on how to set up ZoneSync?  Is it functional in this build?

Congrats and thanks to the team and the betas.

With MC23, I have kept to 32 bits.

Planning to install MC24 as 64 bits.

Are we there yet ? (what is still missing / rough in 64-bit land ?)

My MC23 usage is fairly basic, but I use it for everything:
- MC Server running 24/7, with Win10 MC clients on every TV and Windows 10 tablets
- Red October HQ on main home theater computer
- Steinberg UR824 through ASIO
- live CD
- ripped CD (FLAC)
- almost no streaming
- ripped FHD mkv and 3D mkv (SBS, OU and MVC)
- photo collection
- live OTA (ATSC) from a pair of HDHomeRuns HDHR4 with xml guide from zap2xml
- some Youtube
- no live Blu Ray since first AnyDVD meltdown
- no UHD 4K yet

Can I keep both MC23 32-bits and MC24 64-bits active (but not at the same time) on the server ?

Can MC23-32 clients connect to MC24-64 server ?

While keeping both (for a while), should I do my library updates and maintenance first on MC23, backup and then import in MC24 ?

Cheers !

The 64 bit version is fine.  Either would work.  Clients can be either.

Just install.  The rest should be automatic.

Is MC 24 64bit compatible with playing .tivo files. In the old version, .tivo files would not play on the 64bit version because the directShow filter was a 32bit file.

I backed up the libraries before uninstalling and reinstalling MC 24. Somehow my file associations did not transfer correctly, so I set them up again.

Just trying to find out why?

Thank you
Cyrus

In the old version, .tivo files would not play on the 64bit version becasue the directShow filter was a 32bit file.
That would still be the same.

You'd need to look.  It's not part of MC.

MC24 for Mac is on the Mac board here.

https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/board,57.0.html

I think part of the confusion is that the download page has a button to download MC24 for Windows, but for Mac it's a link to MC23 and for Linux it's a link to the MC23 forum.  It's not hard to figure out, but the email is summarizing that MC24 is available for all desktop platforms, the download page isn't consistent across the different links:

I think I may be entitled to MC24, but I'm not sure. I purchased an upgrade from MC22 to MC23 a few months back. In any case, I am running on a small i3 based computer that doesn't have a ton of horsepower and I already have trouble streaming digital TV from my HDHomeRun with MC23 if there is anything else running in the background. Is MC24 going to use more or fewer system resources (especially for TV streaming)? Thanks!

You have an MC24 license.  It should be similar, but try posting the problem on the TV board.

I've downloaded both windows versions and get the same results.

Once extracted it says "copying files" then hangs and ends up with program not responding.

Anyone else having the same issues or is it specific to my machine.  All previoius MC versions installed without any issues.

***No antivirus running on this machine***

Probably an antivirus problem.  Not common at all.

I just installed MC24. It didn't import most of my cover art, artist names and other tag data from MC23. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Try restoring a backup from MC23.  MC makes them automatically as zip files.

MC24 Zone time slider nor PEQ delay setting works.

I have been using MC zones to run my 42 channels via 12 different stereo DACs with perfect synchronization since MC20. With MC24, the zones started perfectly in sync but the moment I add SIR2 convolution plugin they all gone out of sync. I tried to adjust the timing using the 'adjust link time" but it didn't work. The "delay" in PEQ too did not work. So I waited about one minute for MC to synchronize itself but it didn't. With the earlier built, it will sync by itself if necessary.

I use Windows10 64 bit. All MC version that I use is 32bit. See pictures of the settings in MC23. The same settings were used in MC24.

Please rectify the bug.

Thank you.

JimH, and also could you give us the turn of mouse wheel increment to 1ms instead of 100ms. In earlier version it used to in 40ms.

Thanx.

The upgrade went smooth.  All playlists showed up.  Previous settings in 23 seemed to move over seamlessly.  However, 24 crashes at least once a day and sometimes more.  I finally deleted and went back to 23 today after 24 froze again while making changes to an attribute in Tools > Options   Hopefully the next point release will be more stable and I will try that one.  One good thing - my library changes made in 24 imported into 23!

That may be an antivirus problem.  MC24 is pretty stable already.

That could still be the problem.   Or a bad driver.

That could still be the problem.   Or a bad driver.

What does one do about Windows Defender?  It cannot be deleted and only temporarily disabled.  I hate it because it causes other problems  but have looked forever and the only fix seems to be editing the registry which I am reluctant to do.  My situation is not unique in regards to Windows users.

Which driver could cause this problem?

I am willing to try fixes and work-arounds.

Thanks!
