MC 24 not playing 5.1 wav or dts

Thanks for your concern, Awesome, but maybe you can have not read all the posts because in the same machine and same O.S installation MC23 works just fine so what I want is that MC24 must works at least the same.
I know there is many things I can do... I can play those files with VLC media player, I can convert them to 5.1 flac, without loss, with MC23 and then do the play with MC24 but since it is credible that this maybe a bug of MC24 and we pay for the software I hope that in the next updates this issue may be resolved (and/or motivated).
Thanks for your reply.

I don't think you should be using Default ALSA either.
That setting allows your OS to mess with the output.
Pick a hardware device instead.

Hendrik:
Can you post a log trying to play such a file?
If my hunch is right, you could try playing any sort of video first, which should install a missing dependency, and then try playing the audio file again?

sergioz:
Thank You Hendrik, I think you can find the only message i get posted in my first post here.
I'll follow your suggestion asap and post the result! :-)
Sergio

sergioz:
Ok...I think this may be a good idea. I tried to play various  video files , various formats and extensions, and nothing happened but the message

"something went wrong with playback".

If your idea is correct maybe I can try to open a terminal and give the command to verify and install missing dependencies. But this may take a while and I must schedule to do it in 24 hours. I'll surely post the results.

Thank you again Hendrik :-)
