.wav library rip to MP3 Cd
« on: August 24, 2003, 06:13:32 pm »

I am test driving Media Jukebox 8.

I have ripped some CDs to the HD.  I want to use the uncompressed .wav for fidelity at home.

My problem comes when I want to take a playlist and burn a cd for the car or work.
How do I burn a CD from my audio files that are uncompressed and make an MP3 CD?
When I try it seems to keep the native file format and not convert them to MP3s.

Thanks,

Jeff

You should consider buying Media Center 9, which is the newer version of Media Jukebox 8.

There is no reason to waste hardrive space to keep files in .wav format. MJ/MC both have great support for Monkey's Audio (.ape), which is a lossless audio compressor. There will be no loss of sound quality when compressing a .wav to Monkey's. An .ape file can also be used as a source file to convert to any other compressed format you might want to use.

To burn an mp3 cd, you need to convert the .wavs to mp3 before you burn them.
