How do I set JRiver output to Native DSD?
« on: May 21, 2018, 03:08:58 pm »

All,

I have a MacBook with OS 10.13.4 and am using JRiver for the first time and am new to the DSD world. I have a McIntosh C2600 preamp and recently played a DSD Double Rate (5.6 Mgz/128fs) download that was recognized in the USB input as 176.4 kHz instead of DSD128.

I was told by the folks at McIntosh Labs that JRiver allows the output for for DSD to be changed from DSD PCM to Native DSD. I cannot find any way to change this setting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Enable DSD bitstreaming and make sure volume is set to 100%.

You might also have to open the Audio MIDI Setup app within the Mac, find the McIntosh C2600 connected to the Mac and set it to the max bit-depth/sample rate available. This is required for some DSD DACs to get DSD playback working.
