What you're experiencing is definitely not common. What macOS are you running? The full MC24 version running?
Font sizes do not save.
Hmmm, I seem to recall somebody mentioning an issue like this in the earlier builds of MC24, unless I'm mistaken. You might try a search of the word font in this forum section. Anyways, make double sure you're using the latest build of MC24, 24.0.25 which can be found here:

This is the normal, default behavior (which is needed for bit-perfect audio output, IMO) that you can easily fix by going to the Tools menu and selecting Options. Once the Options window is open, select Audio on the left side and click on ...Device settings... and once that's open, uncheck this box highlighted with the red box and press OK. That should fix it.
It keeps on crashing when importing audio.
This is usually indicative of bad files crashing MC. Again, make sure you're using MC 24.0.25. If it still crashes, you might want to try enabling logging, having MC crash and checking the log for what file(s) are causing MC to crash. On Mac common files that could cause MC to crash are m4p DRM-protected music files downloaded from iTunes. If you have m4p files in your library, that could be why MC is crashing.
