Which ALSA device for Meridian DAC
« on: June 12, 2018, 08:13:46 am »

I have MC24 installed on ubuntu 18.04. I am using a Meridian DAC attached to a USB port. In the Options-Audio-Device I have several options for the DAC and I am not sure what the difference is. Should I use the

front:CARD=DAC,DEV=0 [ALSA] Meridian Explorer USB DAC
or the
hw:CARD=DAC,DEV=0 [ALSA] Meridian Explorer USB DAC.

See attached pic.
Either selection works I am just wondering what the difference is.

Thanks

Either one of those two is fine, but I'd recommend the hw:CARD=DAC,DEV=0 [ALSA] Meridian Explorer USB DAC output over the other one.
