MC24 on Mac OS doesn't detect Google Pixel

Trying Media Center to see if I want to purchase.  Want to sync my iTunes library to a Pixel phone, converting all files to 128 kb/s MP3.  Imported iTunes library to MC, but MC doesn't detect phone.

Media Center 24.0.42 on Mac OS 10.11.6

Google Pixel running Android 8.1.0

USB mode on Pixel set to "Transferring files" (which I believe is MTP?).  Android File Transfer sees the Pixel.
