Hi Folks,

After about a weeks trial, I took the plunge today and purchased the windows/mac master version of MC24.

I'm making good progress with setting up my media library and am very impressed with the versatility of this software. I have set up my library for audio, images, movies, Home Videos, TV shows...etc.

I have a lot of music videos on my network drive and wish to create a view within the current video tree specifically for these files.

I right clicked on the video tree and selected the option "add library view". I gave the new view a name (music videos). This is where I get a bit confused. I need to know how to configure the new view so that it will contain music videos only and no other type of file.

I have searched the forum and the user manual for the answer but could not the solution.

Could some kind person please give me a novice's step by step guide on how to set up a new view for Music Videos including details on how to set the rules for this type of video file.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have the Media Subtype set to "Music Video" for the files, just set a search to filter to those files.

You could look at the default Home Videos view for an example.

Click "Set rules for files to display" on the Customize View dialog.

Then import this rule:
[Media Sub Type]=[Music Video]

Hopefully that gets you started.
