Unemployment during the summer
« on: August 01, 2018, 12:09:08 pm »

Everyone is working so no one is around during the work week to do anything.

You shouldn't spend money cause when are you ever going to work again.

Not a ton of fun.

Cat's ill and might have to be put down if he starts to suffer. So that's not helping.

Unemployed by choice?  Around here the only qualifications you need is to show up.  Everyone is desperate for people.

If he's in Cupertino he's unemployed by choice.  Yeah, high paying jobs are harder to get, but something to keep you busy is easy to find.

I'm just watching kitten academy on youtube 24/7. I had been working on the CNC machine but have gotten a bit skitterish since I ran the bit through one of the hardened hold down screws. Kittens don't explode. At least not outside of game form.

My former employer, a large PC maker out of Austin Texas, whacked 14 of 18 in my group. After 6 weeks I've finally started to push out some resumes. I'd like to be employed before the severance runs out. (Was hoping my doctor and my surgeon would collude and schedule me to have all my vertebrae routed out while I had the down time. BCBS doesn't fall for that, apparently.)

I saw some articles that said I could retire provided I was willing to move but Malaysia is a bit far away and Honduras didn't sound great to me. Supposed to be lovely, however. And I think I could get away with my idea of opening a business that hooks the wealthy up to the blood supplies of children there. Jim had "ethical" issues when I suggested that as a JRiver side business. (If I'm being honest I really should go back and re-score the "Does the word "Kind" describe you?" question on my eharmony profile.)

I watch Discovery ID most of the day, going to need to find a new channel soon.

I did set up a CB base station so I can listening to the truck drivers.

I'm retired so I have plenty of time to waste.
