Need desktop scaling but enabling exclusive mode crashes MC?
« on: August 06, 2018, 10:23:12 am »

I'm setting up MC 24 on my win 10 build 1803 PC with a MSI GT 1030 graphics card.  I have this machine hooked up via HDMI and in order to avoid my PC screen getting cut off around the edges I need to use a custom resolution via the nvidea settings app scaling values.  In JRiver I have enabled MadVR and in MadVR I have exclusive mode enabled.  I also let applications in windows take exclusive control and give those applications priority.

My problem is when I view a video fullscreen JMC crashes.  Is there some way to configure everything so that I can keep exclusive mode enabled, and scale my desktop so that the edges aren't cut off?  Thanks

What screen are you using that cuts off the edges?
Are you not able to use the NATIVE resolution of the screen?

My DLP has always cut off the edges of the screen for some reason.  I don't notice it on other sources, or it doesn't do it, I'm not sure which.  I dont know what I did but I somehow made this work but ended up turning off exclusive mode, and refresh rate switching.  This helps out a lot when I want to back out of the currently playing video, and look at the guide, or launch other programs.  I might need to start a few new threads but I really appreciate your help!!
