Help With Tagging
« on: August 07, 2018, 02:49:34 pm »

New member, but a longtime JRiver user. I currently have several terrabytes of un-tagged music in my library. The majority of these are live Grateful Dead shows. For someone like me it's extremely stressful and annoying having all this un-tagged music. I've chipped away at it through the years, but there has got to be an easier way.

Are there are any plugins that can link up with the music archive and auto-tag a show. I guess another way at doing this would be pulling the changing the metadata from the text files that are associated with each show. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Foobar2000 has the functionality, which can be seen right here. http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Foobar2000redirect:3BE9DFE2-8960-42C5-87F8-6A3112CC3D3E

I'm currently using a Mac and have JRiver23.

It looks like that's just filling the tags from the filename.

Media Center has a really powerful tool for that.  Right-click > Library Tools > Fill Properties From Filename...

There's a little help here:
