Cannot Install MC24 for Windows
« on: September 05, 2018, 01:57:18 pm »

Hello,

I paid for and downloaded the MC24 upgrade.  When I click on the software to run, a window pops up and says "Your license file is for a different product".  I've used the same license for years.  Any ideas of what I need to do to get it installed?

Thank you,

Rob

Download MC24 from jriver.com.

Install it.

Restore.

Thank you for your prompt reply, Jim.  I was able to get set up per your restore page. It was up and running for a few minutes, but playing all files in 44.1.

I changed the Audio Device setting under tools from "Default Audio Device [Direct Sound]" to "Chord Async USB ...", as well as all other options, and still no audio at all, and no light on the Chord Qute EX DAC I have connected up.

I understand that this DAC is not the most friendly unit with PC audio, and I have had similar things occur with MC in the past.  I don't recall the fix, but maybe you could help.

The DAC has ultimately played successfully with MC for months now, but not so with Roon, hence my decision to re-up to your 24 today.  Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.  "Sound" settings on the computer are also checked and are fine.

Please try the Audio Setup guide on our wiki.

Pay special attention to Output Format.
