IdPi crashes on building thumbnails
« on: September 01, 2018, 09:21:23 am »

I have the latest MC24 build running on my new 3B+ with a hifiberry digi+pro card, and when I try to build thumbnails it crashes.  I have a large music collection, 67k files.  It said I had 33000 left to build.  I left it on overnight, but this morning the Pi was crashed.  After unplugging it and replugging it in, it worked again, but it froze after trying to build about 60 thumbnails.

Any ideas?

You might try setting the thumbnail creation threading to Low.

MC's Options > Tree & View > Thumbnails drop down > Thumbnail creation threading: Low

I forgot I had this issue before.  The “long file names experimental” setting seems to have helped. I have some classical music with crazy long filenames.  15,000 thumbs made, another 10,000 to go. If it crashes again I will also try your suggestion. Thanks!
