MC9 often crashes when unpausing
« on: June 03, 2003, 10:41:20 am »

Hi,

I am using Media Center 9.0.175.  I have approx 60gb of APE files and a few mp3s, a total of about 3400 tracks.  I'm running on a PIII-600 with an Echo Mia soundcard.  I use WaveOut with no DSP, using Gapless transitions, Smooth (normal) seeking and Immediate stop.

I am finding that frequently MC is crashing whenever I unpause a track.

I use MC as follows:
Always in MEGA-ME mode (PixOS skin)
I Navigate through Media Library
Right Click and 'Add To Playlist'
Control-2 to open Playing Now
Then I listen to music whilst using my PC for other things, with MC in the background.
Now and then I will ALT-TAB back to MC, and either hit Ctrl-P, or just click on Pause.
Later I will unpause.

What I often find is that when I try to unpause, I hear a second or less of audio, then silence.  MC then stops responding, and I have to kill it with Task Manager.

It seems that this happens more often when MC has been paused for a while.  If I quickly pause/unpause, it doesn't happen.

I have this same problem on two different PCs (configs pretty much the same)

Is this a bug, or are there any settings I should play with?

Thanks in advance!

This should be fixed in the latest build.

It's in the first thread on this board.
