Theater view won't work
« on: September 10, 2018, 12:13:00 pm »

Maybe I overlooked this topic, but MC 24.0.45 Theater View is not working. If I try to open the Theater view page it opens completely black and it remains like that. No standard back ground, no buttons. By double clicking ESC I can leave the page.

I deleted MC24 and downloaded it again. Same result.

No problems in MC23 and previous versions.

Hope you can help. Thanks

Try this
Options > Theater View > Advanced > Use Legacy D3D Theater View (Not Recommended)

You might need to update your graphics drivers.

Tried:

Options > Theater View > Advanced > Use Legacy D3D Theater View (Not Recommended)

and everything is perfect now.

Thanks a lot swiv3d!!

Yeah, depending how old your GPU/onboard graphics are, updating your graphics drivers to the latest would likely help a lot. MC uses OpenGL for Theater View now whereas the D3D Theater View is marked as legacy and is due to be removed eventually. So that D3D Theater View option/workaround won't be around forever... just something to consider and think about. But I would highly recommend updating video drivers just in case newer drivers allow the OpenGL Theater View to work.
