Display Mode ... Windowed
« on: June 01, 2003, 07:46:04 pm »

Is there a way to have MC9 start in windowed display mode automatically...

I can't find any way to make this setting stick, or, even better, a way to get this done with SendMessage.

Unless I'm missing something, it would be great if this could be added (I'm trying to replace WMP with MC as an embedded player, and this is the key missing piece in my project).

Thanks ?

This is in the next version.  I can't say for sure when we'll have the first public beta of it though.

Thanks Matt for your response..

Please make this addition soon, as we don't want to let WMP take the lead here  ;)

Matt made the change today.  We almost put out a build but we're working on the user interface and it got complicated late in the day.  Maybe tomorrow.  Definitely this week.

Thanks for the idea.

Awesome...

... and as a Thank You token, I'll be releasing a plugin for myHTPC that does everything the myHTPC WMP9 plugin does, and some more...

BTW, is there a way to 'unshuffle' a shuffled list? This is the only feature I couldn't match without significant effort

Hey Matt...

While your at it, pretty please fix the TV basic controls that mess up while in full-screen mode.

Thanks A Lot ;D

Wahoo - a big update.
Cant wait.
It's been a while since many changes.

The biggest things for me that hopefully will be addressed in the update are:
  • GUI for List types - not really going to touch them till this is addressed
  • Properties window added to the list of things that are sticky so that open groups etc are remembered.
  • Ability to create new properties groups
  • The bug in hairstyle that when I press enter on an mp3 album it jumps to the track info page instead of staying where it is (i have it set to jump if has display - mp3s dont unless u include the cover art which I dont want to do)
  • General hairstyle improvements :)

Nila the jumping in Hairstyle is not affected by what settings you have in the main window.  It is down the auto hide function built into hairstyle.  If this is set to oin it will alwys jump to full screen when playing starts.  Set it to off and it will not but videos will start playing in the pip rather than full screen.  Bit of a compromise at the moment.  Would be nice if you could select which media groups went fullscreen I agree.

Adam

PS As for myHTPC Pablo is rewriting the core to allow proper messaging and girder integration so it could be easier than ever to use MC with myHTPC.  Check out the thread marked myHTPC 2 in the myHTPC forums for details.
