Compressor plugin recommendations?
« on: September 19, 2018, 09:31:57 pm »

Can anyone recommend a good free compressor plugin that works with JRiver and supports 7.1 channel audio?  I tried MCompressor, but MC wouldn't install it.

I know MC has night mode built in, but I find the effect to be a bit too drastic.  I'd like something adjustable so I can dial in a little less compression than Night Mode has.

Thanks!

What’s an advantage of compressing the signal in this instance? Considering 7.1, what do you mean by audio? Could you give a playback example?

Thx

Compressors reduce dynamic range.

Ok, but why do you think that is advantageous in this situation?

What’s your goal?
