Can't rename unassigned file
« on: October 28, 2018, 06:47:02 pm »

I added a file today and MC24 didn't include the actual name of the file--just titled it "Unassigned" instead. Also, it doesn't show on the Panel screen either. The option to simply rename it is grayed out, so what can I do to rename it and hopefully have it work on Panel?

MC will group files as "Unassigned" when the View being used groups by a tag which is undefined.

For example, in a set of TV Series files grouped by Season, as per default Views in Theatre View, MC will put Episodes that don't have a Season tag defined into a group called "Unassigned", next to "Season 1", "Season 2", etc.

Unassigned isn't editable in those situations. It is just a fallback grouping.

If you can't solve your issue with the above information, tell us a lot more about what you are looking at, and where you are seeing it.
Audio file? Video, Document, Podcast, Image, etc.?
Theatre View or Standard View?
Which View are you using? Audio? Video?
Is the View you are using customised?

Anything else relevant?

It's an audio file and I'm viewing in the Recent Albums window--standard view with no customization.

If you look at the [Album] tag on the file you will see that it is empty.

Indeed it was! I filled in the album title and artist...all is well now. Thank you!
