I just got home from 48 hours of work and just want rip some CDs. This was happening on the previous version I had so I updated to v.60 and same results.

In general I don't want MC to do anything when I put a disc in the drive and normally just close it before running MakeMKV to rip BD's and UHD's to avoid problems. What is happening now is that I put a CD into the drive and MC freezes up when I hit Rip Disc. I can get to task manager but can't end the MC process. The only solution has been to restart the computer.

Where should I start looking to resolve this?

It's likely to be a hardware or driver problem.

Antivirus software is also a possibility.

Hardware works fine in MakeMKV and AV is only the Microsoft built in one but I'll check it.

That something works fine doesn't eliminate the possibility of a driver problem. Something is apparently blocking access. A driver could do that.

Also check settings for file locations, including temp files.
