video conversion of mkv x265 AAC5.1 becomes stereo
« on: November 30, 2018, 06:02:17 am »

Hi,
SYSTEM: win10 - MC23 - over LAN to Pioneer BDP LX58 (Blueray player) and Pioneer SC LX 86 (receiver)

trying to stream a mkv 1080p x265 10bit AAC 5.1 video file I get the message "video file not supported" ( sound is playing) - I believe the BDP-LX 58 player cannot handle x265 codec, but that is just guessing.

Using the MC23 video conversion I convert the mkv 1080p x265 10bit AAC 5.1 video file  to:
- MKV H264/AAC 1080 Auto FPS - or
- MP4 1080p

both conversion then work fine and I can watch the movie - HOWEVER: the formerly 6-channel sound is after conversion 2 channel stereo !! - It somehow seems to downmix the 5.1 to stereo during conversion -
I could not find anything in any of the options that results in the original 5.1 sound after conversion. But I am certainly no pro when it comes to this.
Help appreciated-THX

Multi-Channel audio conversion is not supported right now, sorry!
We're working on some improvements in that area, but it will be a while before thats ready.
