I added a link above for sideloading. Mainly for NVIDIA Shield and other Android TV devices.  We're still working on better support for those.

This build supports image playback and it's working for me.  We still need to tune the interface.

I was able to play images to my IdPi.  It's slow, but it works.

Not seeing any images.  Does it use default picture folder?  Should pressing the image icon show those?

The image files have to be in the default picture folder.

Should you be able to play to Player?  I left the app how I had it for audio, went to the photos, hit play, and the app crashed.  If I change that to Here, it does in fact pull up the images.

I tried again and if I hit play on an image, when set to player, the app closes.  The same image shows when set to Here.  I don't see a crash dialog though, so let me know if there's other data I should save for you.

Playing images to the Player zone will cause a crash because there is no playback window. For now, images will really only work when playing to the browser or through DLNA.

Does "playing to the browser" mean "here".  I don't have a play to the browser option.

Yes. "Here" refers to the browser.

Do the images show up in your library? What file type are the images?

If you took them with the phone, they're probably in the DCIM folder. We're planning to have the app import from there as well, but for now, it's only importing from the Pictures folder.

Thanks for the sideloadling Link

I did installed JRiver on my Shield TV.
I also have a JRiver server installed on an Intel Nuc.
I can play music from my server using the Shield as a DNLA renderer,  but it seems that the Android Version on the Shield keeps continually awake my Intel Nuc Server (even when the Shield is asleep)
I will try to check if this is really due to the shield

Installed 24.0.11 successfully on Samsung Galaxy S6.

No joy on a Xiaomi MiPad 4, I just get a gray featureless screen, no controls. Rebooted, same.  Uninstalled, rebooted, installed, same.
Android 8.1.0
MIUI version global 9.6 stable (9.6.7.0)
kernel 4.4.78

Both were installed via the PlayStore.

My JRiver server is not permanently awake anymore.
It was due to windows update ....

When I awake my JRiver server, I can't see the Shield dlna renderer unless I switch on the shield and I click on the JRiver application in order to run it.
Could make the "SHIELD Android TV" dlna render always available, even when the Shield is asleep, in order to be able to wake up the Shield simply by playing a music (My other DLNA application is working this way).

Thanks
