Hello!

I know I can change folder name when exporting mp3s to device.

 But is it possible to change the file name when export to device?

I'd lile to have "filename - year" because I want to see the album year on my phone.

Check F6 and/or F12. Both tools are very powerful to change a lot of data´s, including filenames.

The file must change name when exported,  and must cjange only on external device.

No. Assuming you are talking about using the Handheld Sync functionality.

You would have to do any rename separately to syncing to a device.

I'm not using the sync functionality, since my device has much less available space.

I right-click on a 5gb playlist and choose "send to device". That way, can I customize the exported files to have the year appended to the "album" tag ?   (I was going to say "appended to filename").

Or maybe adding "album" and "year" to the "title" tag.
