Winamp Plugins still not working in .159
« on: April 17, 2003, 07:02:33 am »

Same issue as reported with builds .89 and .143 ...

Is this going to get fixed with the final release or do I have to wait for v9.1 ?

Used to work perfectly well with Jukebox 7.x ...

:'(

Not all winamp plug-ins will work.  Which ones have you tried?

I would LOVE it if Geiss and Monkey from geisswerks.com would work with MC9.  The best vis's in the world, IMHO, and Winamp-only, :'(

I don't think it will happen.  Geiss works for AOL/Winamp, I've heard.  But tell him how you feel.

Adapt-X - audio gets hickupy the second I turn it on in the DSP FX (even if I do not configure any Direct-X plugin to be used, so basically Adapt-X just sits in the filter pipeline and passes through what it gets from MC 9).

Adapt-X is the most important audio plugin in the world (no kidding  ;D ).

I use it to enhance MP3s with professional Direct-X Plugins such as SonicTimeworks Equalizer, CompressorX, Mastering Compressor, Waves L2 UltraMaximizer ...

It's amazing how you can beef up your audio that way!!!

Adapt-X works just fine with Winamp 2.x and WMP 9 and Media Jukebox 7.

I'm looking forward to be able to use it with MC 9!

jofte,

We are working on creating Adapt-X plug-in for Media Center, but I'm afraid the plug-in will be available only after we release MC.

Kurt,

MC's display architecture does not allow us to support Winamp's visualization plug-ins. You can ask author of the plug-in you like to port his/her plug-in to MC.

ShnAmp 2.02 for WinAmp 2 ( http://www.etree.org/shnamp.html ) is working for me in MC9 build 161.  Not sure if this is news to anyone, but from what I can tell it is.... last I can tell it wasn't working in build 159.

As stated before, MC9 won't import shn files from its internal import menu but you can import them from the Windows Explorer extension.

The first time I tried to play the file, it just said "Buffering" (for longer than I had patience... 10 seconds or so).... so I stopped it, hunted around for a moment, then clicked the play button and it started up!

Nikolay - is there any news on this, and/or enhancing MC9 to support DirectX audio plug-ins?
