Custom field to be displayed in JRemote for editing even if initially empty

Howdy!

Can someone please help me how it's possible to introduce a new custom field to the library, which should be displayed for editing in JRemote/iOS (click on "i"/"edit") for editing even if this field is not filled initially?

I know I get it displayed as soon as I store a value for any album, but this means I have to modify all the tags, which means the backup of my library files copies all files newly.
