I recently noticed some skipping during playback when putting light load on my Mac (2018 MacBook Pro). This didn't use to happen in previous version of MediaCenter. The music file is pre-loaded into memory already decoded. No conversion happening except for the headphones filter. Is the player running at the higher priority than the rest of the processes on the Mac?

Yes, although some small changes were made in that area.
If you turn off memory playback does the issue still occur?
