Jeff,

Thanks for the files. The next build of MC should resolve your problem.

Thanks.

One more problem I am having with convert is a hang. I have a file named

G:\Monkey Audio\Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band\Trouble Is\Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - Trouble Is ... - 01 - Slow Ride.ape

Where the album name is "Trouble Is..."

When I try and convert the file to mp3 the decode seems to work fine, but then it never seems to make progress on the encode. If I rename the album "Trouble is" and for the file to be renamed as well, the convert to mp3 seems to work fine. Let me know if you need a copy of the file.

Next problem is that when I press cancel in the convert window  that is hung, the cancel seems to hang as well in that I can push no buttons on the convert media window...

Jeffh,

Thanks for clarifying the problem. I still cannot duplicate it. Would you mind sending me the specific file so I can get to the bottom of this?

Thanks,

File sent. In case you need it, I am converting the files
to MP3 VBR using a custom quality string of "--alt-preset standard -Z" I have the option to move the new file to a new location set to a different volume.

With version 176 the problem of converting files that already were converted is fixed. The problem of the convert of the some with ... in the album name is still present. Good progress however, but still a little broken.

Jeffh,

The problem with the "..." is that Windows will not allow you to create a directory with "..." at the end. You can verify this by manually trying to create a folder called "Trouble is...". I have modified MC to notify you that your directory path is invalid so in the next build this will be a little more clear, but you will still have a problem if you try to have MC manually create a directory structure with a tag that includes "...".

Seems to me that you could do something rather then fail. I would rather you create the directory without the "..." but still allow the tags to have the right information. Interesting things is that the ripping seemed to have done this in that the "..." was in the file but the directory media center created was just "trouble is".
