Does anyone know if you will be able to customize the music version of theater view?  While "playing now" I would like to get rid of the rating stars and add the album title to the list that has band, track, and time.  It would seem easy and I can't imagine that many use the ratings feature, though I'm sure some do.  Either way, it would be nice to remove it if one doesn't use it.

Curerntly, Playing Now in Theatre View shows, in more or less this layout at the bottom below the Cover Art or other images being displayed;

                                         Album Name . Track Name . Track Duration
Volume Setting as a dot, and details if you hover the mouse over it (click to mute, scroll left and right to change the volume.)
Position in Track as a dot, and details if you hover the mouse over it (click to pause, scroll left and right to change the position)
Rating Stars (with word "Rating prefixed if you hover the mouse over it) (click or scroll left and right to change to set rating)


I've never heard any interest from JRiver in changing that. I've never seen any way to change that. Well, not even through the Theatre View Skin.

I'm pretty surprised no one has ever asked for that. I would think people would like the album title and maybe the year of release on that top line since there is so much room on that available.  Those are such prominent categories visible that I would think people would like to customize them, even if it is just through the skin.
I'm handy enough to edit skins, if that is something easy to add - just for more options and flexibility.
Also, as the dot moves as the song progresses I think it would be nice to add the option of the time counting down.
Would these options be relatively easy to add?

Oh, people have asked. It just is that JRiver hasn't shown interest in changing what is there. To be fair, discussions usually turn into requests for all sorts of stuff, and no consensus on what is wanted. So why change if there is no consensus?

More generally the topic of providing the ability to edit the layout comes up.

I don't know how easy it would be to add or change the layout. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for JRiver to hard code changes. But then, consensus. Providing the ability to edit the layout, harder. In that thread I link to, it was said that skins can't change the Playing Now layout. But I haven't even looked at that.

Perhaps that is what the info button is for?

Why would I want to have to push a button each time I want to find the album title or the year of release?

If you push it once and leave it the view will update with each new track, no problem.

Interesting, is this the button on the top row of options or are you talking about a remote control info button?

That has most of what I want, but I would still like a time countdown  and the larger artwork displayed in the playing now window.
I know it cannot be everything to all people but I am surprised there couldn't be some options like getting rid of the ratings - I have seen threads before about this. There appears to be many who would like that option.
I'm no coder, so I do not know, but I wonder how easy it would be to give us a few options to customize the playing now view in theater view.

The Theatre View skin hasn't changed in years and I would love it if it got overhauled.

Well, anyone can create a Theater View skin if they have the skills. Be warned though, it's likely more difficult to create a Theater View skin versus a standard view skin.
