i am using the latest 24 version JRiver and have one problem for the play sequence.

if i copy a list of music files from Windows 7 Explorer into JRiver, it will play by one very strange sequence number instead of track number? Could I do jriver setup to change this to track number which i strongly prefer.

Many thanks!

Does your music files have the correct track number tag/metadata added?

You would be better off if you imported all of your music files into MC and then played them from there. However I have read somewhere on the forums that enabling Shell Integration (Tools>Options>General) and then highlighting the files in windows explorer from bottom to top and then dragging them into MC will play them in the right order.

i like jriver very much but really don't like it plays the music always per seq number.
when i copy all music tracks under one windows folder, jriver always wants to play per seq number instead of track number. Why user could not choose this?

Thanks,

click on the track # in the Column row this may help

posting in 2 platforms  probably not a good Idea. so reading your post from MC24 my Idea may not work if your not playing the tracks threw MC

First click on Track # column to arrange the tracks from beginning to end or end to beginning.  Then, right click on Player and click on "Update Order".  This will then change the sequence to play the tracks according to track number.

Thank you very much! I will use this method.

But does JRiver have some setup to follow the track number by default insteading of asking user manually adjust every time?

Cheers.

Unless you are viewing the files and drag them in using track #1, adding files to Media Center via Explorer tends to add them in the wrong order. I'm not sure why that is.
Media Center is really built to manage playback via your library rather than dragging files/folder into the player.
I recommend configuring auto-import if you have not already.
