Integration of external Video Player
« on: May 19, 2003, 01:21:22 am »

Hi,
is it possible to tell MC9 to use an external player program for video playback? I have set up a very nicely configured zoomplayer and would love to use it with the hairstyle-view of MC9...

If not, please take this as a feature request :-)

Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but I do something like this by configuring an external tool. Some video files don't play right in MC but do play right in WMP--no idea why. To configure an external tool:

  • Tools/Send To/Send To (external)/Add-Edit Programs
  • Click Add
  • In the Name field, put the name that will appear in the menu.
  • In the Program Path field, put the path to the .exe
  • In the Parameters field, put the data you want passed to the .exe on the command line (the default, "[filename]" will almost always be right)

To use this tool, right-click a file in your media library, click Send To (external), and then click the entry you created.

Sorry, but no, it's not exactly wht I'm looking for  ;)

I want to have an external player as a default, so that any video file will be played with it, when I send it to playing now or double-click it...
