Problem Playing to DLNA Renderer
« on: April 05, 2019, 12:45:42 am »

I must be doing something wrong, but I cannot connect to my DLNA renderer with MC 25.0.18 on my Mac mini.

I am playing from "Main Library" (files stored locally in MC).

I can see my DLNA renderer in the "Playing Now" list, and I can select it. When I pick a track to play, I get an error message:

"There was a problem controlling the selected DLNA device. Double-check your device, server, and network settings"

I don't have a problem when using Media Center 24.0.78 (close MC 25, restart with MC 24 using the same settings).

I have some convolution operations set up with "Media Network -> Add or configure DLNA Servers":

  • Mode: Specified output format
  • Advanced -> DSP Studio:
    • Convolution: check
    • Filter: <path>/2.0_441.cfg

Even after disabling DSP (by setting Mode: Original, and restarting MC 25), I get the same error.

I think I've identified my problem.

I had backed up my library from MC 24, and then imported it into MC 25. MC 25 showed all my albums, and for each album I could see all its tracks and their meta-data. However, when I looked at:

Main Library -> Import -> Configure Auto-Import

it was blank!

I added the location for the music files, and clicked "finish". I was then able to play files to my DLNA renderer.
