Canīt play input format 88,200 and 176,400
« on: April 25, 2019, 02:05:58 pm »

Hi,
Can't play files with input format 88,200Hz and 176,400Hz, flac. Error messages "playback could not be started" and "something went wrong with playback appears. See attached files.
All other formats works. The files can be played if output format is changed to other than above.
Running MC25 on Win 10. using Dirac audio processor and USB dac,  WASAPI. The same error occurs if Dirac audio processor is not running.

Best regards

Open the Player menu > DSP Studio > Output Format and try changing the 88,200 Hz and 176,400 Hz output options to 96,000 Hz and 192,000 Hz inputs and see if they work then.

It's quite possible (and likely) your DAC doesn't support 88.2 kHz nor 176.4 kHz sample rates, thus why you'd need to resample them to 96 kHz and 192 kHz sample rates.

It's not uncommon for a manual to claim support for something that doesn't work.

Are you using Windows 10's UAC2 drivers, or have you installed Rotel's driver for the device? http://rotel.com/usb-drivers
Does Windows' sound control panel list 88200 Hz as a supported format?

If your PC doesn't support 88.2khz or 176.2khz it will not output it. Either the motherboard has to support it or the GPU if  you are using HDMI.

I have installed Rotel driver for the device audio class 2.0 (can play 192kHz files). But  Windows' sound control panel (Dirac processor) does NOT list 88kHz or 176KHz as a supported format,
