License error
« on: December 31, 2019, 12:32:14 pm »

hello,
i installed Media Center 25 on my Linux system and tried to install the license but get the following error:

CRegistrationHelper::RestoreFromFile: bInstalledOk is false, error = Your license file is for a different product.
Could not restore license from file Media Center26 Linux-486294.mjr

i purchased the upgrade using the old Windows registration code.
i'm guessing that i have to buy a new Linux license at full price;
hopefully i can pay the difference.

UPDATE:
oh, boy, more errors!
i went ahead and purchased the Master License upgrade but
i'm getting the same error.  i thought the Master is good for ALL platforms.

please advise how to proceed from here.
thanks...

You need to install a more recent build of MC.

ok, that worked!
25.0.114 (64-bit) accepted the master license.
thanks...

p.s.
just after entering the license, MC seemed to lock up Ubuntu for several minutes.
i have not had UI (Plasmashell) issues ever, so i'd have to point to MC as the cause.
i had to reboot, then MC would not show itself.
i killed it and restarted it and now, it seems to be running ok.
