Can I Change My Display to Do....
« on: May 16, 2003, 08:14:38 am »

I switched to MC from MMJB and I like it so far but two things I miss from MMJB:

1.  Can I show the songs in a playlist I am buiilding and show the Music Library songs at the same time?  How?

2.   Can I have a list of albums and expand and contrast to show songs?  I can see thumbnails of albums but I want a list on main screen (using treeview on left of screen is no great)

Thanks.

1. Im afraid not. This has been requested a few times in the past, but it looks like it is not going to happen in version 9 at least. There are umpteen 'add to playing now' options you can play with to sugar this pill though, and the playlist wizard can exclude duplicates if that is what you had in mind.

2. Again, unfortunately you cant do quite what you want. Probably the best way to view your library in an album-centric way is RhinoBangas AlbumView plugin, which you can download from the JRiver website, and is very full-featured. I suggest you give it a try. However even that doesnt do exactly what you describe.

You can do one in a way but it requires using the tree.  Set your view scheme to have Name as the final node eg Artist/Album/Name then drag tracks from the view scheme in the tree into the playing now window.  This is the closest you can get at the moment

So you can. I stand corrected. I never tried that . Well, you live and learn.
