I had Planes 3D that I ripped long time ago … did not watch whole thing after rip … and surprise - found that I ripped French version … its not a big deal (French thing appear only at beginning "the world of cars" and end credits … rest of the movie still English) … disc is no good anymore (used to store my discs in wallets … and left it where sun baked the whole case)

Recently, I start playing with PGS subtitles (thought to replace ASS with PGS … too complex though) … then I thought of putting English version of "the world of cars" into PGS … it works flawlessly with MPC-HC … but I got funny results on MC and VLC:

1. if subtitle stream contains only "the world of cars" … VLC and MC display it correctly
2. if subtitle stream also contains rest of subtitles, funny thing starts:

funny1: if skip to part where "the world of cars" appears without other subtitles shown … everything is perfect
funny2: if any subtitles were displayed first, then MC and VLC seems to handle transparency incorrectly

First text sub start at 00:00:02:24 up to 00:00:10:05 … troubled stuff at 00:00:38:9

If watch such that troubled thing appear first … then troubled stuff appear as it should

If text sub appear first … then funny thing appear with troubled stuff

As mentioned MPC-HC correctly display this … VLC do same stuff as MC25.0.37 (64bit)

This should be fixed in the next build.

The way those subtitles are made seems slightly odd to me though, there would be smarter ways for the authoring tool to write them and avoid such problems in all players.
