Just did installs on two of my PCs from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now Media Center 25 (latest update) is not seeing through my network my Azure 851N network streamer.  Is recognized by windows, but media Center does not show it under players.  Anyone have any experience with this issues.  Does work fine in Linux Mint 19.1.

I'm actually using Bitdefender Antivirus and yes it does disable the Windows firewall, but utilizes it's own firewall and I've not seen any warning massages pertaining to this issue.  As I stated, Windows itself does see the device in Explorer, but for some reason MC 25 does not.  form Bitdefender about the issue.  Plus, to add I was able to successfully PING the IP address of the Cambridge Audio Azur 851N player.  I don't get it, Windows 7 work fine with media Center and the player.  there's something I'm missing with Windows 10, but I'm pretty new with this OS, and as far as, driver issues that was never an issue in Win7.

Thanks for input,

HSK

Uninstall Bitdefender just to test.

This is most likely due to SMB1 being disabled in windows 10 due to vulnerabilities (have since been patched but due to age of the protocol, it remains disabled out of the box). SMB2 is enabled but you need to make sure that certain services are running (this can at times be hit and miss). Those services are 1. Function discovery provider host, 2. Function discovery resource publication, 3. SSDP discovery and 4. UPnP device host. Set them to automatic. If that doesn't work you can re-enable the SMB1 Protocol through...Control Panel/ Program Features/ Turn Windows Features On or Off.

  • The color of Spring...

Do keep in mind though, using SMB1 is a security risk.

Thanks, for all the input and I'll to utilise all these ideas.  SMB, is interesting and I'll look into that.

What I have troubleshooter around with is that Windows 10 media player does register the Cambridge Azure 851n network plyer, but for some reason Media Center will not?  My installation on two of my PCS (WIN 10) and one Linux Mint 19.1 are that the Windows 10 machines are both upgraded front WIN 7 Ultimate,  and the Linux Mint, of course just woks fine with Media Center and the Azure.

Thanks for the input any ideas are appreciated.

Are you using the 64-bit version of Media Center 25? If so, you might try using the 32-bit version of Media Center 25 instead.

Does AndrewFG's Whitebear tool see the Azur if you run it from the win10 machine? If it does that should rule out any comms issues.

After doing just about everything and what others had suggested I went into options and created a 'PS audio DLNA server option.  That worked, but it was the first time I' have ever had to do that right out of a new install.  I do not know if this culmination of everything else I did leading up to this resolved result.  It's all working now.

Thanks for all the help...
