Double subtitles?
« on: June 12, 2019, 07:03:10 am »

Hello
I have a pretty odd request as per subject: I'd like to have the possibility to display more than one subtitles (of course in different languages), i.e. sub A in the top a nd sub B in the bottom of the screen.
This is why my girfriend is not from my country and the mivie is a third language (most of the time in english).
I expect this not be compatible with DLNA but at least selectable from OSD

thanks

p.s. I cannot find the discussion where these kind of requestes should be placed so I am coming here

it will be impossible to do this real time for some subtitles ... eg ASS/SSA or to some extend PGS ... as these subtitles have actually specific position coded into them ... you can override these positions, but results can be unpredictable

it should be possible to do it with SRT ... depending on developer willingness

meantime you can use some tools to merge 2 subtitles into what you want

http://bonigarcia.github.io/dualsub/

there are also online tools https://subtitletools.com/merge-subtitles-online
