How many instances pr license?
« on: June 12, 2019, 06:45:01 am »

After demoing JRMC25 at our studio, we are considering purchasing. How ever, we can't find info anywhere, on how many instances of the application we would get for what license? If we need to run e.g. one applications on each a couple of PC's, what license version shall we buy? How many instances can be run pr. "Windows Only" license, 2, 3? The same question goes for the "Master License", how many pr. OS? Thx.

You can use one license on several of "your" machines.

OK, how many (running at the same time) for "Windows Only" and "Master License" respectively?

It's not limited, other than by your conscience.  Several is reasonable.  If you're Sony, the deal is off.

OK, that's super. We have 3 PC based workstations and a MacBook that might be used for reference listening too sometimes. Reg the "Sony" word, a joke right? We just don't get it...? :-)

When I have you here, might you at JRiver consider a capturing feature? Would be nice to have stereo (and 5.1, 7.1) recording option in the same playback device too.

What we mean is, when doing mastering, strictly in the analogue domain, it would be great to be able to capture, in as simple a way as possible, making instant playback of recorded file with same audio quality as only a Media Player can, contrary to any of the DAW's on market, where, in the DAW's build nature, they're specced with lots more features than any "simple", as basic, high audio quality as possible MC offers. Any feature packed DAW has a bit of a "sound to it", due to all of the features included (at playback).

That's within reason.  You would need a Master License.

I'll let someone else address the recording question.

You can play anything through the JRiver engine that the computer plays using the WDM driver.  Does that help?

We don't currently have any mechanism for recording.  We did years ago, but it was phased out.

Cheers.

I'll split this to a new thread.
