Playback errors
« on: June 21, 2019, 08:33:41 am »

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. I have a problem with some video files. They will play through my TV, but suddenly stop playing part way through and I get the message 'Playback Unavailable.' I thought maybe it was an issue with the DVD rip, but the same file plays perfectly on the PC.
Is there a setting somewhere, or is there a specific format I should use when ripping my DVDs? I have a Sony Bravia TV. It's odd, because the same file plays on my Brother's Samsung TV. (Not pirated, he has the same DVDs but at 70, he struggles with technology, so I sent him my rips)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  :)

Assuming this is a DLNA device, it depends on the playback capabilities of your TV, it might be able to play the video files without conversion.
You can change this in Tools->Options->Media Network->Add or configure DLNA servers. Try changing video to Original Format.

Many thanks, I’ll give that a try.
