That was the same on the Pi3, also had 64-bit cores. They don't seem to see the value to be high enough to warrant the effort.

In any case, options with more memory finally being available is quite nice. 1GB memory was one of the biggest Pi bottlenecks. In addition, the CPU should be decently faster, and we'll see if the GPU is finally usable.
The IO also seems to have gotten a much needed upgrade.

faceless:
Hi everyone,

been using JRiver 25 in Raspberry Pi 4 with raspbian (debian buster). Haven't tried much but the experience has been great so far, no problems whatsoever playing different music files of high res audio (flac and DSD) with a ifi nano iDSD LE dac connected to the pi.
I did find a bug in the tagging process though (everytime I type a letter it selects the whole tag).
But the real novelty for me is that:
THEATER VIEW is now USABLE!!  ;D ;D ;D

PS: I hope the JRiver dev team pays attention to this and continue to make improvemets regarding theater view performance on the lastest pi

That's... pretty major actually. Hendrik should be happy to hear that it's finally usable on a Raspberry Pi.

As far as I know, it wasn't a performance optimization issue or anything like that at all. It's just the Raspberry Pi's GPU was simply not powerful enough to handle theater view. Let's hope the Raspberry Pi 4 has indeed changed that for the better.

This should be fixed in 25.0.71.

whoareyou:
Anyone try Pi 4 converting DSD multichannel to 2 channel Flac?

Also - just more general question.
I'm assuming that JRiver's performance will benefit from 4gb over lower amounts ?
